Bettina Loppe lebt und arbeitet in Potsdam und Paris. Ihre frühen prägenden Jahre in Paris schloss sie mit einem Zertifikat photographie artistique en noir et blanc (künstlerische analoge schwarz-weiß Fotografie) ab – ein Fundament, das ihre künstlerische Handschrift bis heute trägt.
Obwohl sie inzwischen überwiegend digital arbeitet, bleibt ihr Ansatz zutiefst analog gedacht: Mit handgefertigten Filtern, Mehrfachbelichtungen und dem Prinzip der Lochkamera entstehen ihre Bilder unmittelbar im Moment der Aufnahme. Technik wird dabei zum poetischen Werkzeug. Ihre Fotografien sind vielschichtige Verdichtungen von Licht, Zeit und Erinnerung – sinnlich, experimentell und zugleich präzise.
2024 verbrachte sie vier Monate in New York, wo sie ihre Arbeit im urbanen Raum weiterentwickelte.
Neben ihrer künstlerischen Arbeit ist Bettina Loppe als freiberufliche Grafik- und Ausstellungsdesignerin tätig.

Bettina Loppe is a photographic artist based in Potsdam/Berlin and Paris. Fascinated by photography since childhood, her artistic commitment to the medium took shape following a long stay in Paris, where she immersed herself in the legacy of iconic French photographers. This experience led her to formal training, culminating in a qualification in photographie artistique en noir et blanc, where she refined her analogue technique and deepened her understanding of photographic expression.
While Bettina Loppe now works primarily in digital formats, her practice remains deeply rooted in traditional methods. She experiments with handmade analogue filters, multiple exposures, and the pinhole-camera principle to achieve distinctive in-camera effects. None of her visual outcomes are digitally generated—each image is crafted in the instant of release, preserving the authenticity and spontaneity of the photographic moment.
Her work merges the technical with the poetic, creating evocative, layered compositions that echo both memory and perception. Through her innovative approach, Loppe continues to bridge the tactile beauty of historical processes with the possibilities of contemporary image-making.
In 2024, she spent four months in New York, where she further developed her work in urban spaces.
In addition to her artistic work, Bettina Loppe works as a freelance graphic and exhibition designer.
